Barry is correct, I damaged my offside corner section near the rear lense cluster about 18 months ago – can’t seem to find the post on this site, but I thought that I asked for replacement/ repair advice?

As far as I can remember…. Brownhills quoted approx £475 new sprayed replacement part at a special discount rate. Apparently the part had dramatically increased in price, he advised that it would probably be cheaper to get repaired locally.

Not easy in Bath!! Tried a nearby caravan repair place and they wanted more than a new part, so I tried a car bodywork repair shop and they wanted just over £400 (said they had find out price of new part before they could quote, funny how they could only just undercut).

Mike Sidebottom long term Exsis owner in Cheshire reported that he had his middle section repaired locally to him for £200 about a year before.

I sat on the problem for a year debating if I could really do a professional spray finish myself…..then earlier this Spring I tried to get a quote from another repair shop in Bath, but they also wanted £450+.

I extended my search to a smaller body shop outside of Bath and got a decent job done for £150 cash, but a 10-14 day  wait became about a 4 week wait because they never could never get around to doing it, and they were a bit embarrassed so I got it cheaper than their quote of £150-200 +vat.

By the way it is easy to remove and I was able to fit a simple wooden stay to hold remains sections in place and we even used the van because all the lights still worked and were undamaged.

    Hope this helps, Fred
