The sun was shining so we have been away – to the sea side before summer ends.
Take pictures of each step and make notes where wires fit & direction into and out of sockets, but don’t worry its all straightforward.
Remove screws from top light lens and prise off cover. Pull out plate that holds the bulbs in place and remove connectors, to reveal the screws underneath that fix the light socket to the bodywork and remove both screws. Repeat for the other light unit.
Prise off 3 caps from screws holding centre section of bumper in place and remove screws – this will allow you wriggle room when unclipping corner section.
Remove the 2 screws at the bottom of bumper corner section ( one for bumper and one for side skirt), taking care to note position of spring clip and not to lose it.
The side skirt will easily unclip from corner section, but the centre section will take a little wriggling to unclip the interlocking groves – it quite easy.
I made a bracket to connect the side skirt and centre bumper section together to keep them stable, re-fitted the lights to the bodywork and was able to use the van whilst the corner piece was being repaired.
Take care everyone to avoid this, and best wishes with the repair, Fred
