Introduction – New members

Hi All,

This is a short introductory message from us, Marlene and Gerard, as new members of the group. Thank you for admitting us!

We are, like some other members, aspiring Exsis owners, rather than current owners. As such, we have been ‘lurking’ for some time, learning about the Exsis and watching for ‘for sale’ ads. It is the friendly and helpful character of your online discussions that has caused us to join the group.

Thanks again for admitting us; we hope to be able, in some way, to make a positive contribution to the group.

You’re both VERY welcome here, Marlene & Gerard.  It matters not that you are aspiring, rather than actual, Exsis owners.

As it says in the Site banner – Information, Mutual Assistance, Friendship – sums this place up.  The idea was kicked off by Mike Wharton for owners, with a general Exsis and travel bias to the site.  When he sold his Exsis, I took over the site, as I thought that a lot of information could potentially be lost.  I realised that as our vehicles get older, we would probably need more and more support for things that go wrong and are not covered in the bigger, generic Forums.  And so it has proved, with some great “How To’s” on here by owners who have actually cured some worrying problems, for the benefit of us all.

Tom Mulcahy has been a godsend to our community…  He is the creator of “The Little Exsis Book”, where all the good ideas and information published on here over the years, is collected, updated and regularly published in its updated form.  He was a saviour when Mike Wharton’s original choice of site collapsed with SO many problems that I started this Site and Forum.   I brought across most of the information that I could, but Tom’s “Little Exsis Book” proved to be THE saviour of the information.  Thanks, Tom!

Along with the site came “camaraderie”, where Fred & Gill created the several “Exsistravaganzas”, where up to 20 Exsis’ gathered for a weekend of… well… just pleasant interaction really!  They were all fun, extremely pleasant and informative and the chance to meet all of you great people – Exsis owners.  So a big thank you to Fred & Gill, but to all the other owners who also played their part in making these weekends such a success.  We’re not a large “club” ( in fact we’re not a club at all!) so the friendships shown and forged at the Exsistravaganzas are all the more remarkable.

And then Mike & France, Chris & Peter, and… and… EVERYBODY who has played a part in being “Exsis Owners”.  Without you all, this site wouldn’t exist.

So… this is the site you’ve joined, Marlene & Gerard.  I hope you find your “perfect Exsis” soon and find out what we all, as Exsis Owners, already know… we have “the most exciting motor caravan…ever!”
